International Vulture Awareness Day 2010 at ACCB2010-09-10: On 4th September, the International Vulture Awareness Day was celebrated. ACCB prepared a full day of activities planned to raise awareness within the local area, focusing on the international importance of the northern and eastern plains of Cambodia in vulture conservation.
The day time activities were attended by 32 members of the ACCB Eco-Club (aged 11-17 years) along with three teachers from local schools. As introduction, an ACCB vulture awareness presentation was shown, after which team building activities were run and a short video of the ACCB vulture restaurant was presented.
In the evening, an ACCB community night show was runs in Kun Riem village, Banteay Srei. Approximately 150 local villagers participated in a night show along with village leaders and rangers of the Ministry of Environment. All participants enjoyed an ACCB vulture awareness presentation, a short ACCB vulture restaurant video, and a post-presentation Question & Answer session with prizes!
Despite a little bit of rain towards the end of the proceedings, a lot of fun was had by all! Back
