Breeding success: First Elongated Tortoise hatchlings at the ACCB!
2009-06-25: The Elongated Tortoise (Indotestudo elongata) is an endangered species due to habitat destruction and hunting. At the beginning of June there was some good news at the ACCB, though: For the first time, three little Elongated Tortoises hatched! Normally this species lays only 2-8 eggs per year, thus the ACCB can be very proud of its first breeding success.
