Breeding success: First Elongated Tortoise hatchlings at the ACCB!

2009-06-25: hatchlings of the Elongated TortoiseThe Elongated Tortoise (Indotestudo elongata) is an endangered species due to habitat destruction and hunting. At the beginning of June there was some good news at the ACCB, though: For the first time, three little Elongated Tortoises hatched! Normally this species lays only 2-8 eggs per year, thus the ACCB can be very proud of its first breeding success.
