ACCB’s Ecoclub officially opened

2009-10-26: Tree planting ceremonyThe best 43 students of ACCB’s environmental lessons have been chosen to be part of the newly established eco-club. The eco-club is a tool that helps to spread environmental knowledge and raise awareness amongst other members of the community about their impact in wildlife and forest conservation. On 14th October 2009 with a short ceremony the ACCB’s eco-club was officially opened. Apart from the students, three teachers, two rangers from the Ministry of Environment and a journalist from the Phnom Penh Post were invited to join the opening ceremony. After a speech explaining the commitments and responsibilities of the 43 eco-club members with the rest of the community, t-shirts with the eco-club logo were handed over. Team building activities to strengthen the links amongst members of the eco-club were developed. The last activity of the half-day celebration was a tree planting ceremony with trees donated by the nursery of the Phnom Kulen National Park. The eco-club will meet at the ACCB grounds twice a month with the first meeting in the following weeks where the first topic would be Threatened Species in Cambodia.
